Burghound's Allen Meadows beautifully sums up Domaine Goisot's place in the wine world: "No one but no one delivers more quality for the price than Goisot. The quality is flat-out amazing, particularly given the modest appellations with which he works". 

This  Saint Bris shares many attributes with the top bottlings of Sancerre from terres blanches soils, and it is generally cropped at lower yields than all but the very best estates in Sancerre. The Exogyra Virgula focuses on Sauvignon Blanc vines of the family estate, with half approaching 40 years of age and the other half around 15 years, thanks to replanting. The vines grow entirely in Kimmeridgian and are farmed biodynamically. Once in the cellar, the wine is vinified in stainless with ambient yeast fermentation and a focus on freshness, then aged on fine lees in stainless.

The wine has aromas of green apple, kaffir lime, stone fruits, and a hint of apple blossom and a slight honeyed note shining through. This wine goes through malolactic conversion and spends an extended time on its lees, adding body and depth to the finish. This wine sees no oak, which allows the clean, saline minerality to take center stage throughout and on the finish. It is one of the best wine alternatives to Sancerre's increasing prices.
